How to Get Beautiful, Glowing Skin.

Wash your face at night

Over the course of the day, makeup, dirt, and oil build up on your face. Make cleansing your skin part of your bedtime routine.Use makeup remover. Not only does this prevent it from clogging up your pores and causing breakouts while you sleep, it also stops you from smearing bacteria on your pillow — where it can get into your skin night after night.Use a gentle soap. Remember that you want to clean your skin, not completely strip it of all oils — if it feels tight and dry after washing, you're using something too strong.
Avoid the eye area; the skin around the eye can be too delicate for most cleansers.
Rinse off by splashing water on your face. Using a washcloth or rag to roughly wipe your skin clean can irritate it more. Instead, bend your face over the sink, cup your hands together, and bring up small amounts of water to splash over your face. About 10 splashes should do it.
Pat dry. Don't roughly rub your skin dry with a towel. Instead, dry it with small, gentle pats or let it air dry.

1. NEED TO ORDER WITH CARE :

Ask for dishes that are steamed, grilled or boiled instead of the deep fried or sauteed ones. " Skip foods with creamy sauces and gravy. You Can also ask the chef for customization.Ask for pizza without cheese baked instead of fried vegetables, a yogurt or any other low calorie topping,"

Go for an appetizer instead of the main course. That way, the serving size would be smaller. When ordering from the mains, if you find the portion still big, cut the portion in two, get it to take home.

3. PICK LOW CAL SALAD:

Its not as if everything listed in the salad section would be healthy. While ordering a salad, skip the ones thet have cheese and cream. Also ask for lighter dressings such as vinegar, lemon, olive oil etc.

Cocktails such as daiquiris and margaritas are quite high on calories (Around 300-350 calories).

Avoid diet drinks to lose weight

If you thought gulping down diet cola would help you lose weight, think again. Researchers found that over weight and obese adults who drink diet beverages actually consume more calories from food than obese or overweight adults who drink regular soda or other sugary beverages. "Although obese adult who drink diet soda eat a comparable amount of total calories as heavier adults who drink sugary beverages, they consume significantly more calories from solid food at both meals and snacks,"

Individuals who drink diet soda typically have a higher BMI (Body Mass Index) and consume more snack food than those who drink sugary beverages. Artificial sweeteners present in high dose in diet soda disrupts appetite control and the brains sweet sensors may no longer provide a reliable estimate of energy consumption. As a result, consumption of diet drinks may result in increased food intake overall.

Get healthy hair tips

Top 5 Foods for Healthy Hair

It can take longer to notice changes (both good and bad!) in your hair than in your skin. For example, "just one week with a poor diet can yield acne flare-ups or dry, sallow skin within days,

1. Salmon

Besides being rich in protein and vitamin D (both are key to strong hair) the omega-3 fatty acids found in this tasty cold-water fish are the true superstar. Your body can't make those fatty acids, which your body needs to grow hair. About 3% of the hair shaft is make up of these fatty acids, . Omega-3s are also found in cell membranes in the skin of your scalp, and in the natural oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated.

2. Walnuts

These are the only type of nut that have a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids. They're also rich in biotin and vitamin E, which helps protect your cells from DNA damage. Since your hair rarely gets much shielding from the sun, this is especially great,

3. Oysters

Oysters are rich in zinc, a lack of which can lead to hair loss (even in your eyelashes), as well as a dry, flaky scalp. Three ounces has a whopping 493% of your daily value. You can get some zinc through fortified cereals and whole grain breads, but oysters can boast a good level of protein too. "Remember, hair is about 97% protein,

4. Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a great source of the antioxidant beta carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A. "Basically, every cell of the body cannot function without enough A,". It also helps protect and produce the oils that sustain your scalp, and being low on vitamin A can even leave you with itchy, irksome dandruff.

5. Eggs

A great source of protein, eggs are loaded with four key minerals: zinc, selenium, sulfur, and iron. Iron is especially important, because it helps cells carry oxygen to the hair follicles, and too little iron (anemia) is a major cause of hair loss, particularly in women

Mantra | 10 Winter Skin Care Tips

1. Seek a Specialist

If you go to your local drugstore, you'll be hard put to find a salesperson who can give you good advice. That's why going to an anesthetic or dermatologist even once is a good investment. Such a specialist can analyze your skin type, troubleshoot your current skin care regimen, and give you advice on the skin care product you should be using.

2. Moisturize More as possible

You may have found a moisturizer that works just fine in spring and summer.  But as weather conditions change, so, too, should your skin care routine.  Find an "ointment" moisturizer that's oil-based, rather than water-based, as the oil will create a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture than a cream or lotion. (Hint: Many lotions labeled as "night creams" are oil-based.)
3. Sunscreen
No, sunscreen isn't just for summertime. Winter sun -- combined with snow glare -- can still damage your skin. Try applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen to your face and your hands (if they're exposed) about 30 minutes before going outside. Reapply frequently if you stay outside a long time.

4. Give Your Hands a Hand

The skin on your hands is thinner than on most parts of the body and has fewer oil glands. That means it's harder to keep your hands moist, especially in cold, dry weather. This can lead to itchiness and cracking. Wear gloves when you go outside; if you need to wear wool to keep your hands warm, slip on a thin cotton glove first, to avoid any irritation the wool might cause.

5. Avoid Wet Gloves and Socks

Wet socks and gloves can irritate your skin and cause itching, cracking, sores, or even a flare-up of eczema.

6. Hook Up the Humidifier

Central heating systems (as well as space heaters) blast hot dry air throughout our homes and offices. Humidifiers get more moisture in the air, which helps prevent your skin from drying out. Place several small humidifiers throughout your home; they help disperse the moisture more evenly.

7. Hydrate for Your Health, Not for Your Skin

If you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times: Drinking water helps your skin stay young looking. In fact, it's a myth. Water is good for your overall health and "the skin of someone who is severely dehydrated will benefit from fluids.

8. Grease Up Your Feet

Yes, those minty foot lotions are lovely in the hot summer months, but during the winter, your feet need stronger stuff. Try finding lotions that contain petroleum jelly or glycerin instead. And use exfoliates to get the dead skin off periodically; that helps any moisturizers you use to sink in faster and deeper.

9. Pace the Peels

If your facial skin is uncomfortably dry, avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents, all of which can strip vital oil from your skin. Instead, find a cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser, a toner with no alcohol, and masks that are "deeply hydrating," rather than clay-based, which tends to draw moisture out of the face. And use them a little less often.

10. Ban Super hot Baths

Sure, soaking in a burning-hot bath feels great after frolicking out in the cold. But the intense heat of a hot shower or bath actually breaks down the lipid barriers in the skin, which can lead to a loss of moisture. "You're better off with just warm water,"
A lukewarm bath with oatmeal or baking soda, can help relieve skin that is so dry it has become itchy. So, too, can periodically reapplying your moisturizer. If those techniques don't work, go see a dermatologist. "You may need a prescription lotion to combat the dry skin,"

Keep Your Hair Health and Shiny

Choose Your Shampoo Wisely:

Don't use an anti- dandruff shampoo regularly. It can lead to early graying of hair and damage roots. Also, don't use the same shampoo for months togather. it's always a good idea to keep changing brands to prevent resistance and excess chemical damage.

Extra attention to wet hair:

Don't comb wet hair rigorously as it will tangle them even more. Also. wet hair sheds more, so you need to comb carefully

Color Carefully:

Do not keep artificial color in your hair all through the year. Once it runs out, retrain your hairs natural shade for at least 2-3 months before you revert to coloring.

Hot Beauty Tips

No Black Eyeliner for small eye:

Black eyeliner on the rim of the eyelids can make small eyes look bigger by adding another dimension so don't be afraid of indulging in a quick cateye or thick  stroke of black liner.

Wearing makeup can cause breakouts:

This is a common myth. Skin breakouts depend on one's personal beauty and hygiene routines. Accumulation of bacteria and oil cause skin problems, so invest in a good quality makeup remover and never go to bed without a clean face.
